  • "The Ensign Killer"

  • How acurate was the rear end bomb eject tunnel??

  • cybercow222: The A-5 Vigilante, also known as "Viggie" was a large plane for a carrier. It was also called the Mach 2 Malfunction. They had lots of problems. But it was a beautiful plane. They used to have one at the Naval Aviation Museum at N.A.S. Pensacola. I was stationed there when they brought that plane in, decommissioned it and gave it to the museum.

  • great video....

  • Last month i was visiting San Diego, and we tok tht tour on USS Midway. when i saw how big the vigilante is i was shocked, and an cool aircraft though

  • NEWS FLASH - Flight Sim History Made -- Feb 6th 2010 - I have posted two videos of my carrier landing in the AlphaSim freeware craft using my photo-real panel made from a 1963 NASA Dryden research photograph. I made two night traps with about 25% fuel, (all tanks) full flaps , 150 knots approach. To my knowledge I am the first ever sim pilot to land this aircraft as I have seen no one else post video of it. I have landed the F-14, F-18, EC-2, S-3, EA-6B and now this...the most difficult A-5 !!

  • Vr speed (approach speed at short final in the case of a carrier landing) as it's landing. It was a monster and a real handful in that sense or so I've heard. Speed at end of cat shot was probably in the order of nearly 180 knots.

  • That takeoff or landing speeds?

  • That one landing at position 34 looks like the insignia of the RVAH-7 Peacemakers, (decomissioned Sept. '79)

  • Ooh Ooh Ooh tell 'em about the bomb tunnel that ejected the Nukes out the back!
