This video was filmed 1 week after this 26 year old skier had her left ACL surgically reconstructed using her contralateral bone-patellar tendon-bone graft. The surgery was performed by Mark Sanders, MD FAAOS at the Sanders Clinic for Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Houston, Texas. This is a follow up video (one week after surgery) on the patient from the video "1 day after ACL surgery at Sanders Clinic II". In this video, the patient is performing ball squats as part of her accelerated rehabilitation. For more information on ACL reconstruction at the Sanders Clinic, Dr. Sanders, accelerated rehabilitation, or any other injury, please visit our website at http://www.sandersclinic.net or call 1-888-8 DR-MARK. Thanks for watching!

*These results ARE typical.

  • I need to have this same surgery as this girl, but I've tried to get ahold of the Sanders Clinic with no prevail.

  • @canwehavfun

Finding me or our clinic is not hard. My cell is 713.907.6076. The clinic phone number is 940.612.3100

My nurse is Michelle. They will be in Monday morning.

  • I am terribly sorry to bust your bubble, but the videos are real and true. Probably you have had a bitter experience and can't believe that it can turn out this way. Proper patient selection, atraumatic technique, and immediate rehab is the key. abd this is a typical case. You must be an honest person and never have been involved with fraud. If you regularly read crime novels, you would know that its is darn near impossible to have such a large number of people in the video if it was fraud

  • It all seams great until she slips on day 10 and needs to start from scratch again.

  • @skivids We have encountered many more falls with patients on crutches then we have encountered new ijuries occurring on a person's two feet.

    Try again.

  • Caugh caugh im sory im allergic to bullshit

  • Why do all Sanders Clinic patients have their both knees with patches?

You tear one ACL but you get the second one for free?

Plus, pure lies. You will never be that well after 4 days of your surgery. It takes months to do things like riding a bicycle like you are in a competition.

  • i am literally 1 week exactly after my ACL and i am able to walk without crutches . not full extension just yet but certainly the rest period helped. It is possible when your an athlete like myself and like this girl in the video.our bodies expect that we get back to it faster than most people. Our minds are dertermind and strong. We are fully aware that competitive activities are months away but the rehab from day 1 is the key to getting there. :)

  • I've gone to Dr. Mark. BEST MOVE OF MY LIFE. The videos are real. My recovery was amazing... triathlon 3 months later..... Thanks Dr. Mark!

  • Fraud, this is bullshit!

  • lol wtf, its been one week for me after i got my acl surgery and i cant lift my leg up or even bend my knee. what are you pumping into these people??!??

  • This is very real. My 14 year old daughter just had her ACL repaired by Dr. Sanders on Wednesday August 3, 2011. Today is August 6, 2011 and she had done everything I have seen in the videos from the Sanders Clinic. She had a complete ACL reconstruction. She is already bending her knees to 145 degrees. Dr. Sanders has called everyday to the Therapist, Allen, to check on her progress. She is only three days out and started doing wall squats today.

  • @hawaiiancerveza From what my doc said I don't need physical therapy because I can bend my knee more than 90 degrees and I keep doing squats with a chair to help get my rang of motion back. I am also using encyclopedia of mobility to get all mobility back from the base to the hips. Thats what help me to get back on my feet quickly. Now Im going to the pool to get my graph stronger.

  • I tore my ACL and my meniscus and in 6 weeks can sprint again. I can't do side to side movements as quickly but I need to strengthen the graph more. I can't jump yet because there is some inflammation still in my left knee. Im not sure if this is the real amount of time that she was actually doing those exercises but I could hardly walk for the past 3 weeks. I started to walk without my cast on the 4-6th week taking the cast on and off until the 6th week no cast at all.

  • @sandersclinic I agree w/you that videos are "real," they are filmed, yes, but, who is to say when they are filmed? The fact that you/she says that it is one week after is meaningless, it requires that the viewer believes you/she is truthful. It could have been filmed a month or more after! And by your logic, you would believe every little thing that the media tells you? Its kind of like movies that are "based on a true story." I would have to 100% agree with everyone else though, Bull.Shit!

  • My child was able to do that and walk about the same as this girl. However, this video is much different from the video of the 17 yr old skateboarder. As stated previously, I would love to see the wound/incision which would more so validate the length of time since surgery on the videos you have placed on youtube. Seems strange that this is never available along with the videos.

  • Look, there is a difference between getting an ACL graft with the same leg i.e. hamstring or patella tendon, than getting a graft from the other leg and inserting it into the damaged knee. The italian left back prior to the world cup tore his acl and recovered in 3 months using a synthetic graft. Although it might not seem believable, the action she is doing, with a ball at her back, reduces the amount of weight she is bearing on her leg because she is able to exert some horizontal force.
