Great flick! I surfed the Kewalo left for two years - 1965 & 66. I knew the Manoa crowd - Bones, Ron N, Russ M, Long Russ, Mooch, Stephen. I was called Bobby Boy (9'6 Hobie beater). I have a Facebook group site I'd like everyone to join and post pix called "Kewalo Basin Surfing Society". Hope to see you there.

back in the day ....before ankle leashes you were likely to have your board broken in half if you wiped out.....supposedly it was named after a surf song by the "Safaris" famous for the song "wipe-out"
