Detroit Free-Press columnist Drew Sharp is not a big fan of Michael Vick's return to the NFL. Admitting he's "not a second chance kind of guy," he is concerned about the NFL's allowing Vick back into the league given Vick's "pattern of behavior". "This is a guy who may have sociopathic bevior here," Sharp says. "Is this what the NFL really wants?"

He adds that Vick should have gone on "Oprah" rather than "60 Minutes", so that he can have a "come to Jesus" to "appeal to the sappiness of our society."

  • @CHolmesJ14 My god you are a fucktard

  • Drew sharp is an asshole...

  • @CHolmesJ14 lol he's been lying all his life buddy, how do you reckon he kept his dog fighting a secret? he lied to the closest people around him. He lied even after there were incriminating evidence. Next, he lacks empathy, the CAPACITY to RECOGNIZE and SHARE FEELINGS that are being EXPERIENCED by another sentient or semi-sentient being AKA DOGS. Have you ever hear a dog Weep? Doesn't that make you sad? well clearly that doesnt apply to Vick because he lacks EMPATHY.

  • @jwang604 He only really relates to one which is the moral judgement aspect but we only know that on one angle. Just because he initially lied does not make him a pathological liar, no one can say if he lacks empathy considering I don't personally know him and I'm assuming you don't either. His early behavior only reflects his upbringing, not sociopath behavior. We have seen him have emotions plenty of times on and off the field. No one is saying what he did was right but he's no sociopath.

  • @CHolmesJ14 Sociopath - A person who lacks conscience, moral judgement, social responsibility/consciousness, pathological lying, lack of empathy, lack of emotions, early behavioral problems, lack of behavioral control, among many other traits that Vick befits. Stop trying to downplay his crimes by saying it's a "bad behavior".What he did is outright despicable. it has nothing to do with poor judgement, the guy is a grown man who systematically killed dogs for over 2 years.

  • @jwang604 I think you need to do some research on what a sociopath is. For instance, you clearly don't know that characteristics of a sociopath. Of course, it is behavioral, but merely displaying bad behavior does not make you a sociopath. The lack of moral responsibility is just ONE trait of a sociopath. Being a poor worker is also a trait of a sociopath so I guess you think lazy people are sociopaths as well.

  • @CHolmesJ14 Sociopaths are ppl who portray a BEHAVIOR that depicts a lack of conscience or moral responsibility. Committing a crime while out on bail and his senseless killings proves this. It's a BEHAVIOR over the course of his life growing up as a child, 20 some odd years. And behavior needs to be re-conditioned for it to be altered. Jail time alone would not change a behavior according to the statistics of repeat offenders. Vick is under public scrutiny so obviously he'll act for the camera

  • @jwang604 Sociopathy still doesn't fit. I understand what you are trying to say, I really do. However, he does not have social issues, he works hard (at least now he does), he has actually changed since his release from prison, and he is engaged. Sociopaths have a hard time working, ultimately fail at social interaction, they often don't change which explains their lack of maturity, and they struggle to form relationships. Don't confuse sociopath behavior with poor judgement.

  • @CHolmesJ14 lol that's exactly what I've been trying to say, you can't change just by going to jail. His sociopathic behavior stemmed from his childhood and manifested itselfs throught the years. It has become a part of him. He's a sociopath. He needs counselling to help recondition his behavior. And he hasn't done any of that. Like I said, he's sorry that he got caught but he's not sorry about the dogs. How can you give him the benefit of the doubt when he has zero credibility to begin with?

  • @jwang604 I'm not saying he is "cured" I am merely saying we will never truly know, only he will. And it's easy, it's called a poor socialization process. If you are raised around something and have become desensitized to something, you obviously aren't going to have the same outlook as other people like you or I. That's sociology 101 my friend. Now if he had been raised in a wholesome household in a nice area with strong morals and did what he did, then you would be right.
