Back in the eighties he went on tour with Laurie Anderson an Brian Gorno.
Brian Giorno was reading his poems through this echo device.
In this video, bougrroughs seems to have borrouwed the echo machine.
I don't realy think it suited him. I prefered when he read straight, like he did in San Francisco. But what can one do?

not sure to be honest, definitely before 1986. I think this is footage from "The Final Academy" UK tour in 1982.
