I have student loans and I don't want them forgiven but what I would prefer is that all of the schools that accept student loans to go and do a readjustment of their cost and return to the banks the money that was paid for class with the inflated cost of school. I know that the cost I paid for school was so much more than many of the people that came before me and the value of the degree that I have received has decreased in value instead of increasing.

what!? And a student working three fucking jobs doesn't pay taxes!?

the system we are studying to work and live in is breaking down, all those taxes we pay in social security we will never see. this system is on the way out we can only hope that its expedited so something else can start up.
the only choice this system still has is whether we are ready to accept a slow and painful end for it or a quick and less painful one
look up the venus project

@sidweiss1966 No, the real problem isn't the kind of degrees people get, but the fact many of them often graduate with little to no productive work experience. Students just don't want to work in fields unrelated to their majors and chose to not put any energy in holding down a job while going to school as well.
Plus the market has too many people with degrees that it has become over saturated.
So you're wrong; what's going on affects ALL degrees, not just the ones in liberal arts.

This video is too vague and overall, makes weak points (even though they're essentially right).
For a stronger analysis I'd recommend Thomas Sowell's work on education.

See the student loan documentary. this is hogwash

@thomaserossi I lived in Europe for 9 years. Just a few years ago, students were protesting a school tax. They lost the fight. Now they must pay 1000 euro per year to go to the University. SO yes free schools do exist.

I graduated in four years with no debt. You know how I did it? I went to community college for 2 years and got 60 credits risk free and dirt cheap, then through a fixed credit college fund payed into since 1990 used for the remaining two years, I graduated with money LEFT OVER after paying 4 semesters tuition at a state institution. Oh and I didn't live with my parents either. I worked my ass off and paid my own rent and expenses. Fuck all you lazy spoiled white kids. Welcome to the real world.

Don't bail out Multi Nationals, i.e., GMC, not to mention other Corporations that promote that they endorse and support " Capitalism " and yet hold out their hands for and hand-out, GMC should be ashamed of itself... and Yes, Please to Help those who need an education, proper training so that they can be productive members of society, and not be like GMC holding their hand out....
the real problem is these kids have chosen majors with no job potential. the colleges don't care what you you major in nor do the bankers care what you major in but majority seem to have degrees which no jobs exist for.

@Jace231 - There's not such thing as "Free School."
"Countries outside of the USA" have had fascist and communist regimes and many still do. They were quicker to accept these brutal dictators that the "Free School" advocates also accept. There are more mass graves in the Ukraine then anywhere else on earth. More Ukrainians died in the winter of 1933 at the hands of the NKVD then the US killed in ever war it has ever fought. The rest of the world is a thousand times more fucked up than the USA.
