Using Google Sketchup to make a 3-D model of the available battery space was very useful in visualizing how the batteries can be arranged.

  • I want the batteries and center of gravity to be as low as possible in the chassis to make for better low speed handling in commuting and lane splitting situations. I haven't thought about obtaining a battery from OEMs but I seriously doubt they would be willing to sell batteries alone especially if they are concerned with liability. Besides I want to go through some of the work of designing the pack myself as a learning experience.

  • A rear spoiler would add aerodynamic drag. The panels will be in the position shown only while riding. I will design a mechanism to allow them to be tilted toward the sun when the bike is parked.

  • Solar panel dont look good there.

You can consider using a rear fiber glass spoiler.........aerodynamic look and more sun light.

  • Love what your doing but I think you need to look at more places for the batts. For instance the tank won't be needed so perhaps you can get more centralized with the positions ?

Also have you thought about obtaining a batt from the people who make zeromotorcycles, they have an amazing batt that is small but powerful
