2009 B&M Roller Coaster Contest-CLOSED (may host again in 2010)

Welcome to the 2009 Bolliger & Mabillard Roller Coaster Contest! Due to the success of last years contest, Ive decided to host this contest again.

The roller coaster contest is hosted to users of Roller Coaster Tycoon 3®, NoLimits Roller Coaster Simulator, and Scream Machines.

Similar to last years categories, there will be seven, based on B&Ms roller coaster styles.

This year, however, the categories will be split up into subcategories, based on which game you used to create your coaster and enter in the contest. Hence, subcategories will be for RCT3 rides, and the other will be for NL/SM combo rides.

The Categories are:
• Best B&M Stand-Up
• Best B&M Sit-Down
• Best B&M Floorless
• Best B&M Inverted
• Best B&M Hyper coaster
• Best B&M Flying
• Best B&M Dive Machine

As stated, each of the mentioned categories will be broken down to RCT3 and NL/SM subcategories. To be more organized, there will be Category videos available for you to enter the contest by responding. You should respond to the appropriate video, based on your coaster design (NOT THIS VIDEO).

You are only allowed to enter SIX SUBCATEGORIES. Your videos can be all RCT3, all NoLimits/Scream Machines, or a combination. You can only enter one video per subcategory (not 3 floorless coaster videos in and RCT3 subcategory and an NL subcategory for example). Each ride must be an ORGINAL DESIGN (NO RECREATIONS). You can enter a video youve already uploaded, or It can be for this Contest, preferably that!

If you enter a video youve already uploaded, the uploaded videos date has to be no earlier than July 20, 2008 (when the first contest ended last year). I WILL CHECK THE UPLOAD DATE.


Each ride is graded based on a point system (out of 100 points).

For each RCT3 roller coaster subcategory, points are broken down to:
• (5/100) for creative name
• (30/100) for overall design of ride
• (15/100) for the "life-likeness" of the ride (meaning, the ride has to be realistic)
• (20/100) for scenery/custom scenery

The Final 30 points is for having the appropriate B&M train used for each ride type. I am very critical of this because I did not clearly verify this last year and many people got away with it. This means, if you want to create a Sit-down B&M coaster, USE a SIT-DOWN B&M TRAIN, DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TRAIN. Violation of this rule will be an automatic deduction of 30 points.

For each NoLimits/Scream Machine roller coaster subcategory, points are broken down to:
• (5/100) for creative name
• (45/100) for overall design of ride
• (35/100) for the "life-likeness" of the ride (meaning, the ride has to be realistic)
• (15/100) for scenery/custom scenery

I also would like to request a small snippet (either off ride footage or a P.O.V), probably 10-15 seconds, of the ride you are entering, because I want to highlight a snippet of your ride in the winners video. If you have a rapid share account or mega upload video account, please upload the clip and PM me the download link. If you do not have an uploading account, use send space and send me the link (I'm usually on the internet between 2P.M. EST and 4 P.M. EST so send the links to me then).
