Banish Misfortune

One of my favourite jigs. Not sure if it ended up in any clip before, and, who cares, it's a lovely enough tune, even though I still don't do it justice.

I am a beginner and have just started an Irish Music class where we are doing this piece... how long have you been playing.. you are doing well.. i find it so hard to make it sound good

Hiya snakeawake, I started with the fiddle in June 2003, and after finding out where all the notes are instead of getting etude books I got myself a copy of O'Neills and abused all those lovely tunes for learning. Then I got brave enough to join a groupclass, and found a fiddle teacher for a lesson about once a month. Keep at it, you'll make that tune better then I'm doing in this vid in no time. Seems like yesterday I sat on my back step and opened that cardboard box that held my first fiddle.
