@1234DRLJAN It's gotta be either the Dallas Stars or Colorado Avalanche

Refreeze the ice? That's just silly. and far too expensive and time consuming to take out/replace. monster trucks, motocross, rodeo...we cover it just fine.

At 1:59, it looks like they took a lunch break.

@Prim3StaR they do not melt the ice. They put boards over top of the ice and it is kept cold and frozen from the piping underneath.

@John19182004 Like I said, they have thin plastic slabs with the hockey markings on them that they lay down onto the cement floor and freeze the ice overtop of it. In most cases, it's too expensive to refreeze the ice. But for events that require heavy moving objects like this, there's no choice but to let the ice melt and redo it. For events that require dirt, they put tarps over the floor to keep the cement clean.

@SiliconSam428 Moral of the story: Don't trust everything you see on TV. Besides, "How Do They Do It" is notorious for giving out false info.

@Prim3StaR if they didn't have it frozen, wouldn't all the ice melt and the markings run??
-
what team is this?

@Prim3StaR How Do They Do It says the floor is 4cm thick overall. Which is 1.6 Inches.
the changeover took about 24 hours... Stay tuned for the rest. The hockey home opener is Thursday and it will be updated then.
