The New Burris Eliminator Scope uses a built-in laser rangefinder to find the distance to your target. Then, it automatically calculates the required hold-over for the target's distance, and a red dot appears on the vertical crosshair, showing you where to aim. It's a remarkable new system.
this newfangled stuff takes the fun out of hunting... lets all go back to pointed sticks and spend the money we save on a nice brew.

that's a really bad idea. the recoil of an air rifle is the opposite that of a rifle, that's why there are rifle scopes and air rifle scopes, because they are built different. rifle scopes fall apart due to recoil they were not built to withstand, however small it may be, can damage or break a scope no matter how expensive it is.

This scope will mean FEWER wounded animals with out people taking guesses... guessing the range, guessing the bullet drop, and praying.... this scope takes out the guessing - to say this scope will mean more wounded game is not true... we have proven that several times allowing our clients to use the scope on film after they miss, etc... with their own gun, hand them mine and the fur hits the dirt.

Ok its a good scope i got it for xmas but i put it on my air arms s410 pellet gun 995 fps on a full charge how so i set it up for the pellet drop???????

how do you think this scope would do with a 270 winchester short magnum? and dont you have to start accounting for wind, spin drift and stuff like that when you get up close to a half mile and further????

The concept of combining a hand held laser range finder and a rifle scope seems convenient. The problem is that it will cause more wounded game. No matter what kind of fancy equipment you have, if you don't understand and master the fundamentals of marksmanship that scope won't help you. What it will do is give you a false sense of ability and cause wounded game. I have nothing against range finders or ballistic calculators we just need to remember to learn how to shoot.

@RoninHawk - To clarify, having a laser rangefinder within the rifle scope is a nice feature. But to have a projected impact point based on a predetermined ballistic database, removes the incentive of the shooter to actually learn how to shoot. While additionally, its database is not accounting for the inconsistancies found in mass produced factory ammo.

Personally, I dont particularly like this scope. Its my understanding that its database is primarily based around factory loads of common/popular cartridges, while not having any useful flexibility for use with handloads. I see this as a product that is intended as a long range shooting solution for lazy people. No thanks, Im happy with my Mil-dot and my handloads.

@bionicactionman - No, the fun in hunting comes from the hours spent in the field, matching wits with the animal that your pursuing. Firing the shot, is only a fragment of a percent, of the total hunting experience.
