Plans for talks between Britain and Argentina on the fate of the Falkland Islands, a disputed British-ruled archipelago, have been confirmed by a top UN official visiting Buenos Aires. 16-10-2010

Donatus Keith Saint Aimee, president of the UN's Special Decolonisation Committee, says he'll mediate in any talks on the islands that Argentina calls the Malvinas.

  • The British first arrived on the Falklands Islands 1690 and settled & laid claim during 1700's!

When the British arrived & laid claim there was no human life on the Islands, Argentina did not exist, They were occupied and ruled over by Spain. TODAY 2012=The Falklands People wish to stay part of the UK.

The Falklands People do NOT want to be occupied by Argentina.

The Falklands will live in Freedom & Democracy, NOT Occupation.

RULE BRITANNIA, Long live a Free democratic Falklands.

  • @Zerc92 No it was Argentina don`t take my word for it I invite you to investigate when Argentina joined the UN in1945 it was raised then the Brits offered in 1947 1948 1955 your country rejected it. over the years negotiations continued until Argentina broke them off in1982 and when to war, we don`t have to prove who the islands belong two you made the claim you have to prove it. only an ignorant moron passes of his opinion before he checks his facts... you have shown who the moron is.

  • @Oder1001 who are you to say that argentina doenst wish make justice?

you talk about a law court but isnt the UK the one who ddidnt want to put malvinas in the ICJ?

    you are an ignorant moron...

  • @ratalino73 fuck off back to spain

  • @lasmanos merely a matter of opinion that`s why a court to resolve such issues is necessary. it is a question of what is right! and one that Argentina wishes to avoid.

  • @Oder1001 La Argentina se independiso en 1816, no intereza que españa lo haya aceptado 40 años despues, Uds cuanto tardaron en aceptar que las 13 colonias ya no le pertenecian?

  • @lasmanos Spain only recognised Argentine independence in 1853 so its not possible to inherit in1816. the British removed only the military personnel Vernet was not on the islands at the time the British arrived in 1833.

  • @lasmanos Original? who is an original?Argentinians? you come from Europe like your ancestors the same with the Falkland islanders.Proximity has no legal standing in international law. the North pole sits on the Russian shelf but is not Russian territory Argentina also claims other islands not on the continental shelf. the Spanish acquired the French settlement in 1767 the British were there 1765, both the French and British were present on the islands before Spain.

  • @lasmanos all people have the right to self determination suggest you read the UN charter I have there is no special privilege for Argentina to say who is and is not entitled to self determination.
