Another short step-by-step tutorial on how to create a 3d animation from a (2D) photo in Adobe After Effects, this time in combination with the Vanishing Points feature of Photoshop. (Music by Kevin MacLeod.)

The photo is taken in the Sauerland region of Germany.

For extensive information about this subject, follow the corresponding tutorial at videocopilot.net (#39).

  • I would've done that in an actual 3D program if you want it to look really good. it's not that hard, either.

  • @TheFXGuy Yes, I guess that is true.. Now I have more experience in 3D animation, I might do it differently.. But I still think it takes less time to animate a 2D photo than to do it in a full 3D program..

  • @TimelessFuture Obviously it's easier, but like I said, not as accurate.

  • Wow thats pretty awesome dude. Good job :) Tumbs Up!

  • how do you add vanishing points?

  • you just save them out as .psd the standard photoshop format. Then you can directly import them into after effects, there both adobe products it gives the user the ability to cross platform if they choose.
