I have been working on a small-medium sized Spark-Triggered Tesla coil, and I'm finally to the point where it does something. I still need to build a tap-able primary coil before it will work properly. The current primary is just some old hook-up wire thrown into a rough form to see if I could get some sparks off this thing.

Not shown, I am able to actually light low-wattage bulbs by placing myself or an antenna of sorts in the circuit, so with more power I should be able to replicate some interesting demonstrations. Stupidly I tried to light an old carbon lamp this way... the fragile 105-year-old filament simply disappeared without so much as a blink. I felt sick over that.

Primary voltage comes from half of a 10KV OBIT. I may use the whole secondary when I get some more resilient capacitors. My caps are 12KV, and a 10KV primary supply easily generates spikes well above that rating. Spark-Gap Tesla coils are violent animals.

Maximum power draw is variable by changing a series lamp inside the unit.
