*** About the Walk For Liberty

What are you willing to do for freedom?

Vote? Protest? Participate in a rally? Walk all the way across the country?

We are.

This summer, a group of activists will be walking across America to achieve more freedom and liberty.

Our pioneer forefathers trekked across the continent from the east to the west to find a better life for themselves. This time, we're doing it in reverse.

I am walking coast-to-coast across the country, from Oregon to New Hampshire. I am joined by my immediate family as well. We're on a quest to gain more freedom for ourselves and for our country by spreading the message of freedom and liberty along the way.

Why are we doing this?

We see the gradual chipping away at freedoms in America, and want to do our part to stop it. My wife and I are moving to New Hampshire as part of the Free State Project. New Hampshire is already the freest state in the country, which is why we are moving there. But we also want to help bring more freedom to as many other people as possible.

Therefore we are walking across America to get to New Hampshire. We are walking all the way there to bring as much media attention and publicity as possible to two liberty-oriented causes: the Free State Project, which is working to make New Hampshire even more free, and Ron Paul's message of freedom for everyone. • I got pulled over one time, because a cop said she saw me put my seatbelt on when she was following me. After arguing for a while, she finally listened to me and realized that they were automatic seatbelts that go on when you turn the car on. She wanted to give me that ticket so bad.

  • Don't compare 9/11 to accidents

  • @diskfurnace Fuck that! I can swim just fine. Thanks for posting this, I was about to kayak out to an island this weekend, and I don't have a life jacket. Being that I already got my seat belt fine, I don't need another. I'll be sure to stay home this weekend and jerkoff, instead. Whats next, checking the soles of my shoes for a slipping risk. What pussy cops.

  • Considering that head trauma is the leading cause of death in auto accidents, (including one's where people are wearing seat belts), why is there not a law to wear helmets when driving?

Laws like the seat-belt one are just plain stupid, basically our government is saying you are not smart enough to take care of yourself so it's going to do it for you. Well, really it's just a way to collect revenue.

  • I'm not against wearing a seatbelt when I drive. I'm all in favor of it. What I'm against is avoiding riding in a car w/out a seatbelt at any cost. The unlikely worst case scenario of not wearing a seatbelt is higher, but the probability of hardship of refusing to ride w/out a belt is a virtual certainty

  • More like "walk for idiocracy"......

  • What a waste of time walking all that way because some people are too lazy to buckle up. It's no wonder mandatory seat belt laws exist - to protect those from themselves (no common sense).

  • It's people like you that have no common sense whatsoever, therefore it has to be forced upon you. You may drive safer without a seatbelt but what about the idiot talking on the cellphone or doing some other task not related to driving? If it's that big of a deal that you're so lazy and incompetent to put a seat belt on, maybe you shouldn't be driving, and I hope you don't have kids because they watch what you do.

  • yesterday i got a $120 ticket for not having a life jacket in a kayak, i was in 4ft of water. While being ticketed the officer said almost exactly a year ago a kid drowned in a kayak b/c he didnt have a life jacket, he said he was just trying to protect me. I asked him why the state was in charge of keeping me safe. he had no response

  • Does the Government pay for my car insurance NO, does the Government pay for my health insurance NO, so Y make me wear my seatbelt. What I am a Fucking child a 7 year old, who R the Police my parents. Who am I hurting by not wearing my seat belt myself? If any thing I'm going to drive safer not wearing my seatbelt. Police always say seat belts save lifes, well according to that logic and mentallity so do bullet proof vests, now what your going to make a law forcing people to wear them Whats next

  • u r officially a retard, driving on the wrong side of the road puts others lives at risk, not wearing a seat belt (if u r an adult) is ur own damn business and puts ur own life at risk, u shud join the losers in europe or come here to canada where govt will by ur mommy and daddy.

  • I disagree. You can not say a slave kept in brutal bondage being told to pick cotton is free. That slave has the choice of do what he or she is told or die. Now thats hardly a choice. If you think thats an exageration of this topic, it is. However, the principal remains the same. Click it or Ticket is the same in principal as Pick it or Whip it.
