I chose to stay with her two years ago sacrificing a great opportunity and worked shitty job with her because I lost my visa in the states. Two months ago she chose a rich kid to date.

It's just not the same when you've lost someone you truely loved in your life. Someone who knows your feelings, merely by looking at your eyes and without having to convey with words.

Other girls you meet and have relationships with, they're no longer the same. If it's to merely have sex for pleasure, there's an empty feeling in the heart.

And you can't look at the new girl without feeling guilt, because deep down inside, you unconsciously compare her to that one woman you let go.

However, she has her family, she has her children, her husband, and the commitment of marriage. And I can't imagine destroying the life she has, neither does she.

But I sometimes wonder what life would have been if I stayed with her...if I didn't abandon the life I had then. I live a fairly successful life now, but I could have severed my ties with my family either then or now, it wouldn't have made a difference.

Only that I would have her with me, instead of being alone...

When I saw this movie around 10 years ago, it made me look back and regret what I always tried to flush away from my memories.

Through my years in turmoil and dysfuntional family life, there was a girl who told me before I left her, "don't lie to yourself..." Those words still give me a heartache time to time.

Now, she has her family with two beautiful children. I've talked to her several years ago, and I noticed we both have lingering feeling...
