  • there is also much evidence to suggest that the islamic blockade of the mediterranean was the cause of the european dark ages with the cessation of papyrus for books from egypyt and the closure of the silk roads to the east

  • he fails to note that "islamic science" for the most part, is a misnomer - the majority of the work was carried out by conquered civilizations such as the persians, who were already a very advanced civilization by the time they were vanquished by the invading muslim armies - the influence of islam actually stagnated their evolution, as evidenced by such "islamic" heroes as al-razi, who was considered a heretic by the islamic leadership of the time
