  • It actually is not always that high but it does in fact clean better with more water. The comments are proof. If this pile of shit machine cannot handle having water in it then what good is it? Have not had any problems so far.

  • Yeah I notice also I have to use the Hot setting to even make it warm, its always been like that since the Day I got it.. Damn Energy savers!!!

  • @platinumreflex When I get a chance I will play with my washer and figure out a way to make it use all hot water. I have some ideas already but let me get into mine and make it work first. I really haven't noticed that problem but I will defiantly figure it out for you! :)

  • I have been letting ming fill about 1-2 inches above the glass for a few month now and it seems to be working great.

  • Most of us don't need to go nuts with the water. Start with a small adjustment. The drum is deeper than the glass window. Thanks for the tip Tony.

  • @d46512 Your right. Most people will get much better results by getting the water line just visible. I am probably going to turn mine down just a little because my drywell backs up in the winter time. So a little less water for me wont be a bad idea. But it still needs to use more than what it uses from the factory.

  • @ywmpg Make sure you don't round out the screw like the person above me did. Make sure your screw driver fits in the pressure switch pretty good. Use a flat head in the pressure switch if its a better fit.

  • @TonyStone31 Thanks for your video TonyStone... My wife and I have HATED our Samsung washing machine since purchasing it about 18 months ago. I always knew there should be more water and wasn't sure if it would be take an adjustment through the electronics to achieve it. Should have known it would be as simple as a pressure switch. I didn't waste ANY time in removind the top cover and adjusting the switch. Waiting for the first load to finish as I type! It can't be WORSE!

  • This fix worked on my Daewoo also. Probably universal to adjust to the Water Pressure switch. Thanks so much TONY. Your a marriage saver. :-)

  • Thank you Thank you thank you ... repeat this one million times! Thanks you! I was going crazy with my brand new, useless so called washer! This thing barely got my cloths damp, let alone wet! Because of you, I was spared a major hassle with Best Buy trying to resolve this unbearable situation. After watching your video, I was able to fix my washer within 5 minutes to now have something that cleans my cloths! If you are ever in Rochester, NY, I would like to buy you lunch! Thanks again!

  • how you turn your screw on water sensor clock wise or counter clockwise cause I want to this adjustment on my machine

    thanks

  • Scroll down and read starting from comment 1) and move up.

    9) For this model, I think you should either increase water amount or at least modify the position of the sensor so that the screw faces the outside wall of the machine, make a small hole in the machine body, so that the adjustments can be done from the outside if required, without removing the cover (is would be also helpful for those who have a dryer stacked on top of washer).

  • 8) I totally agree that sustainability and energy and resource saving are important and I think that most of the people these days are aware about this and already doing their best to live Green and reduce energy and water consumption. I think that population is mature enough to make a reasonable decisions on how much water to use for their wash. You can also put some logo beside such dial to remind people about the importance of fresh water resources. So please consider this for next model.

  • 7) To SAMSUNG ENGINEERS. As you can see there are lots of people who are not happy with the amount water in the machine. Instead of making it harder to modify the machine, I think you should focus on how you can improve it. How about a dial that user can use to select the amount of water for the particular wash (lets say Low, Medium and High). I'm not sure , but I think that it will be first machine with such function.

  • 6) For all those who wrecked the screw or rounded the slot. First try to remove the screw (you will need to do it anyway to get to the spring out). Then use small file to cut a new slot. Another option is to just buy a new sensor, it is only $15 and you can buy it at your appliance parts supplier. The part # is DC96-01703B. This might also be an option for those who are afraid to modify original sensor. Just buy another one. Modify it and then just switch with the one inside the machine.

  • 5) Use a ruler to measure spring length (will be about 20 mm). You need to stretch it a little (I stretched mine to 25 mm). Put it back into the sensor, and screw the screw back into the sensor. Not all the way in. Mine is just flash with the top of the sensor and it gives me water to the bottom of the glass (the edge, where the glass changes from sloping inside the machine to the vertical face - this is what I used to have in Europe). You might need to run few cycles to find the right setting.

  • 4) Here is what you need to do if two turns didn't make you happy. Remove this screw by turning it counter clock wise all the way. Don't worry your machine won't fall apart, just be careful last few turns as there is a spring underneath and the screw which might jump up a little and it then can fall down into the machine. Once you remove the screw you will find metal spring underneath and this is the detail which I think Samsung engineers modified since Tony's post.
