This is one of my favourite pieces by the english composer John Dowland. Originally for the lute, It was composed during the renaissance period. Notice that I play it in a key just a little bit lower than normal. Some specialists of this kind of repertoire may argue. I think it brings a deep feeling to this music. I really like it that way. John Dowland (1563-1626).

If you are curious about learning more about me, know that I actually compose music for the guitar. You can find a CD "Eric Lemieux, Three Suites for Guitar" available at this address:

  • Good, but... It is too "ad libitum" and slow (even though this is slow). It's a pavane-like dance, so the pulse is more steady than free. Obviously, when we play it we don't do it as a metronome, but i'd recomend you to do it a bit more steady and fast.

    Regards!

  • @Aensgard That’s exactly what I like about interpretation: You may do things in a different way. Present a piece in a new perspective. Innovate and do something a little bit differently. Stretch the limits as much as possible while remaining consistent with the text. That's how I see it.

…If not.… There is no point in playing that same old piece of music. :)
