This is an updated HQ version of my 2007 music video which uses 8mm home movies to portray the essence of the Death Cab song. It's an idyllic look at childhood in the 1950's. It's also the sequel to my video "You and I" (formerly Honey & the Moon) by Audrey Richter which also uses old home movies . The young girl in this video is now 60 years old with granddaughters at least as old as she was in the video.

  • Are one of these little boys you?

  • I am 52 years old, and the home movies in this video were filmed before I was born (1951-1956).

  • I should point out the boy is my older brother.

  • These are someone's home movies. This is someone's childhood. There is so much about each person, location, and experience in these videos that we know absolutely nothing about. There are millions of people that we know nothing about and will never know anything about. It really is amazing how many of us there are each with our own life, our own experiences, our own relationships. It really makes you think how small we really are but how much emotion is in each one of us.

  • this song makes me cry every time i hear it. it's so haunting & beautiful...& the lyrics are just....exceptionally lovely, pure, simple

  • I Love how much time i spend with my mom and dad. I love them more than life it's self and i couldnt picture life without them.

  • Being very young, this is something that kids like me barely saw. This was sorta like this when I was young, now its just clubs and parties. Family time has really strayed nowadays. Thanks for sharing this.

  • this is gorgeous and it really does capture the essence of the song.
