Simbone Mbali Video

Simbone is a praise singer poet / rotational storywriter and vocalist, hailing from the City of East London in the Eastern cape province.

He was born and raised in one of the city's townships called Mdantsane, where poverty, immorality and violence are the vile conceivable things that have negatively affected the society. A need for redemptive change became an obligation than a necessity in order to secure a brighter future for the society and self.

This need for change is what triggered this poet to write, expressing his inner thoughts and his deepest desires. What makes him perculiar is that his sound is indigenous in Rhythm and in Lyrical Content. He is not just any Poet, he practises what he says and lives what he sings..

Over the years, his unique music has touched many souls..

Below is a selected list of his achievements:

* Entering a SABC 2 Lentswe Poetry Project Competition for the AIDS category, and was shortlisted the finalist and won the category. The poem was aired on SABC 2 from the 1st of December 2008

*Blessing viewers of Weekend Live SABC 2 with a live Musical item.

* Performing in different productions at the National Arts Festival held every year in Grahamstown.

*Holding a 15 minute interview and perfomance about his Poetical, Musical life and its significance to the community. This was aired on Spirit Sundae on SABC 1.

* Numerous live interviews and perfomances on Luckeez Mfowethu's radio show on Umhlobo Wenene FM.
