About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
just show this video to your school! Even though bringing the person is a lot better as it gives better understanding and more attention.

Very interesting comment - do you think that in order for someone to make money, others have to necessarily make less? Could you also please expand a bit on the myth of progress? As a side note, you may be interested to know that a Standford Research shows that above $75,000 / year, having more money doesn't actually have any impact on people's happiness... and those who have $50 billion (eg. Bill Gates & Warren Buffet) end up giving 99% of it away to charity :)

Fails to examine the full implications one of the main tenets of his talk; profit. The world is full of good but ultimately extractive and therefore destructive enterprises. "[with my idea...] The more good you do, the more money you make." Examine this, Noam: "The more money you have the less other people have; or the more money is 'created' the less each unit of money is worth." He also fails to examine the myth of progress.

137 species that die everyday. Good talk but beware of making such precise statements.

thanks a lot for your comment... the best advice I ever got was "a great idea is an idea that happens". Where is your school? If you email team (at) seeducation (dot) org I'm sure we can find a way to arrange a talk at your school...

That's the point. 'Strengthening of brand image' is a starting point towards greater profitability from doing good. I have recently started my own company which works on the same premise and have been struggling against the norm, trying to explain how it's OK for a FP and and NFP to join forces, that the profit motive doesn't cancel out the fundamental point that the project is good for the community. Channeling of funds into NFP's through profit allows for even more good work! THANKYOU Noam!

thanks for your thoughts! I definitely agree with you and that's exactly why we're showing big businesses that the best way for them to keep making lots of money is... to do good. For the moment they only use it to strengthen their brand and miss on big commercial opportunities like the big brands who've lost market share to OneWater or Tom's shoes. That's why I teach companies to turn "good" into something profitable :)

great idea, but lets be real, big corporations are not prepared to do this unless they see something in it for them. Its unfortunate, but true. It's fashionable these days to be socially aware, to be fair trade, to be environmentally friendly and i believe a lot of companies use this as a marketing method to strengthen their brand image.
