The tranny in this video was a Mercedes-Benz Automated Manual 6-speed, not a Eaton Autoshift (see sticker on the very end.) The older ones did have some trouble but great fuel economy. I just saw an article they have a new version, called Freightliner AMT3. I'm gonna check it out soon, loved the old one with the MB engine

my uncle drove a semitruck with the smart shift and he said it was a piece of shit... tranny doesnt match up with engine

That's nothing new. The trucks in Europe have had AS-Tronic 12spd automated manuals for yeeeeeeeears and they do all the blipping etc themself oh and they block shift and don't go through every bloody gear when empty lol
