Sadly, there are folks in the City of Katy (or the Katy Suburbs) who have no idea how their town got its name. They think that Katy was named after Katy Perry, or some other such nonsense.
News flash: It was named after this railroad. (The last two letters in the name are pronounced KAY TEE, hence the town was named Katy.) Without this railroad, and the whistle stop it had west of Houston, Katy would have never existed.

this video is day crew making up train at eureka yards houston my dad retired in 89 this was 85 was probably my dad switching they came out of eureka yards and crossed over sp tracks
