if you read his books, esspecially the ones from his car reviews in Autocar, he's been working as an automotive journalist now since the 80's and has driven practically everything you see on the road
check out Clarkson Cars, Dont Stop Me Now, Motorworld and so on

yep. and it's not like he keeps his cars any longer either. THAT is typical celebrity! But he does it to get the newest and best every time though. He can afford it too!
