The choir of Overlake Park Presbyterian Church sings "Behold the Savior" by Dana Mengel. On the last day of the choir season, the choir sings favorite anthems of the previous year. This beautiful anthem was sung on Good Friday; the text follows:

Behold the Savior at Calvary, who died in bitterest agony.
Though sent to be the world's light, now see him broken and drained of life.

Behold the Savior upon the hill, now cold and lifeless; now pierced and still.
Behold the sadness of those who mourn, behold the stillness before the storm.

His kingly head made for a crown, now pierced by sharp thorns and hanging down.
His voice that uttered, Thy will be done," now fallen silent to everyone.

Beneath the shadow of Jesus' cross, I feel the measure of greatest loss.
It was for me he bled and died, my dearest Jesus the Crucified.

Kyrie Eleison, Christe Eleison.
