Was pouring concrete on a bridge deck. Beautiful blue skies. One little puff of a cloud came over and seemed to stop right over us and just down poured and hailed for about 20 minutes--30 seconds after we finished scrambling to cover the whole deck with plastic--it stopped. Was watching Kentucky derby one glorious Sunday and head BLAM the instant white sparks came out of the tv. Ran outside and one tiny wispy cloud that you could see through was overhead. Lightning hit the antenna
Yep--thats the North Dakota I remember. I lived there before cell phones and every year at least one person froze to death. One year it was a lady in a skirt and high heels. She died at the end of her driveway (there are some really long driveways in ND). Was taking a friend to court once. It was 60 degrees and beautiful for an Oct day. First ten miles--nothing--then the snow cames and by the 20th mile--we were stuck--had to spend the night in the little shop with about 20 other travelers
