New York is and has always been a dynamic city, which has made it an ideal playground for photographers through the years. TASCHEN's newest book, New York: Portrait of a City, chronicles over 150 years of life in New York, with over 600 photographs ranging from early color shots of the city, iconic scenes of Penn Station and Times Square, to the obscure. As "curators[s] of time and space", selecting the decisive moment -- we're all documentarians of this endlessly interesting city, contributing to its ongoing portrait.
