The mellowness and evenness and control in his rich vibrato is my favorite thing about his art. I just saw him this weekend live for the first time, and his "furibondo" surprised even me. I've never heard him handle such demanding passages.

There´s is a certain voluptuous quality about him and the colour of his voice that seems to me quite...lascivious. (does it sound too strong?) And what makes this more surprising is that he´s got such a macho look. Countertenors generally look rather angelic.

Just look in You Tube under countertenor,
male sopranist, castrato, ( A term which I do not like but has historical relation?
And you will find all sorts of great performers available to you.
I have come to the point where I now prefer the male soprano voice over the women´s voice because it has more substance and very often more technique.

I think you misunderstood me. I think the male soprano voice is quite beautiful and has a very unique quality. The first time I ever heard a male soprano voice was on a TV program and the songs this man was singing were very "weird" and dark. I was hoping someone would recognize this group and could supply a name so that I could purchase a recording.I actually didn't like the songs, but I enjoyed listening to him sing.

Perhaps, if you have any real interest, you may obtain a deeper education about the male soprano voice which enjoyed favor for 300 years and is now coming back into favor as it is so beautiful. Nothing weird about it my friend.
