Wow, Jim. You have a very special talent there in Lexi. You may have the greatest golfer in your possession. She has all the intangibles of being the next #1 LPGA player. She comes off her feet at impact much like Lora Davies. Who used to be the longest hitter on the LPGA. Lexi already has that move. She will only get better. You heard it here first: Lexi Thompson will be the next dominate player on the LPGA. If you're waiting for Michelle Wie, wait no longer. Lexi is our next American star.

Both feet off the ground must be a result of powerful swing. My daughter had same nature move and was htting very long, however she lost distance when we tried to fix that.

Bobby Jones never had his left heel off the ground, at least not in the down swing or at impact. Lexi actually has both feet off the ground at impact. Bubba watson is the only player I've seen (who's any good) do this.. They both hit it a mile and can get it around the course but neither one of their swings is very good technically. By the way Bubba has never had an instructor if that tells you anything.

@sabregold19991 Clearly you are to lazy and bias to watch the video that I suggested. If you draw a line on the left hip at address and the left hip is further forward at impact that would mean there is lateral motion. Is Tiger getting better or worse with his new swing? Check his stats in 2000 to see just how well he hit it.

maybe you should read my comment more carefully huh? Garcia simply moves back to where his left hip started at address. Is that a slide? If you think so you are a waste of time.
Hey Mclean what does winning golf tournaments have to do with a technically sound golf swing? Clearly, Tiger changes golf instructors every several years because he still cannot drive it straight. He won a bunch and thinks his swing isn't right. That's because he is right.

@sabregold19991 Maybe you should check out Jim McLean University and the piece on lateral motion. Clearly shows that Garcia has moved forward. Good luck!

Nick Price has left hip slide. Sergio Garcia simply moves back to where his hip started at address, hence that is not a lateral move. What I understand and you do not is why Price does not hit hooks and blocks with that much slide. Should Garcia slide that much he shoots 80 ...consistently. Would u like to continue to show your incompetence?

@sabregold19991 Do great players have a left heel off the ground at impact? Answer: Yes.
Pretty sure that Jim has taught more top players than you and done way more research. I would suggest reading the 8 step swing or X factor for a little guidance. Have you ever even looked at a piece of Garcia Video? No lateral motion in Garcia downswing? The only things you have said on this entire post shows how closed minded you are and how little you know about what top players really do.
Good Lord,
I would pay this clown to not give me advice.
Lexi is talented but that golf swing is just awful.
Bad grip, Bad posture, rolled clubface to compensate for bad grip, trapped right elbow due to grip, hence she is literally standing up thru the shot to compensate for a bad grip and rolled face and trapped elbow. If she does not stand up she cannot release the club. Take away her distance and she is an average LPGA player, period.

@sabregold19991 Shows just how little you understand the swing. Lexi was the number 1 ranked junior and women's amateur. She was the youngest player to qualify for the US Open and youngest player to win an LPGA event. There are lots of different swings out there and Lexi swing continues to hold up well.
