  • I do believe it is omega-3 in them. When I take flax oil pills, the craving for fats like chocolate or chips goes away. Because the brain is losing the good fats, it makes you crave them.. My observations only..

    Only if your head is made of ceramic pottery and you spread the seeds on! (The Chia Obama head is popular these days...though it doesn't have anything to do with us) Chia is able to grow that gimmicky grass without dirt due to its dense nutritional properties.

  • Chia seeds do have Omega 3 healthy oils, which are a type of fat. (The same as in fish oil, which you see people buying as a supplement) Eating a fat to lose a fat may seem strange, but: Thats what USA Weekend reported on a study of dieters. In the study, people on the diet who were also supplementing with omega-3 oil lost more weight than people who didnt use this healthy oil.

    Chia curbs your appetite with the gel portion of the seed, and not the oil content in the seed.

  • Chia seeds are 30% fat, that's why they curb your appetite. Notice how the add mentions 23% protein but not the percentage of fat?

    If you want to drink seeds, fine -- they're like any other food.  Just don't believe people who try to convince you that they're magic ass reduction pills.
