Driving/Epic Parking Fail

Taken on June 2nd, 2009, at about 5pm. Guy was sleep deprived and fell asleep while driving. Not far from his house, on a wide stretch of road. Must have been flying since this bit of road is short. Guy wound up hitting a power transformer and a tree, which caused his truck to ride up and then land on an innocent Mazda. So this is both a parking and driving fail. Location is northwest Austin, Texas.

the tow truck operators are idiots. they didnt release the parking brake on either car.

@kersh4w Which is actually the best way to do in crashes like this.

If you release the parking brake the vehicle you are 'extracting' could come rolling back at you.

Leave the brake on/in gear and you just rub a little rubber off the tires.

It's the safest way to do it.

Where he did screw up was he did not set up safety chains on the winch side before sticking his head under the low side to hook up those chains.

the truck was probably in gear... i doubt the pickup driver put the parking brake on before exiting the cab as if it were a real parking job LOL
