I knew from the book that the Black wins the race - and yet I still sat on the edge of my seat, with my heart in my mouth every second... Could hardly see for tears at the end. And I'm not usually a soppy sentimentalist! Ye gods, what I wouldn't give to ride a horse like that along the water's edge... !

I've had that image of the blood running down the Black's leg in my head for years, now I know where its from! Great movie, proves you don't need dialogue to tell a great story.

I love this movie soo much! I used to have it on VHS, but then it got ruined in a flood we once had in our house :'(. Now I have to wait to buy it on DVD. I so wish I had a horse like that. Same breed, same coat color, same speed and stamina,but different gender. Mare/Filly. As in, it'll be a full grown Mare, but it'll still be like a Filly. I love the books, and I love this movie. Thank you, Walter Farley :)
