is there a certain equation that you use to figure out the length and width of a strand for a turkshead knot?

@packapunchwhips Rule of thumb I measure the diameter of the knot at its thickest and divide that by the number of bites in the knot. If anyone has a better formula I would like to hear it. For length I measure one turn around the knot and multiply by 9

@bernie46 so when you say "diameter of the knot at its thickest", do you mean the actual knot or the foundation?

@packapunchwhips millimeters for strand width but I still measure the length by feet and inches
