my god, i remember going to watch these at fat louis in skegness, absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!! used to love him doing still got the blues for you and i used to be there every time he was on, many years ago.
What a legend this guy is. Used to let me and my brother jam on stage with him when we were youngsters. Never forget that. Such a legend!! He also taught my teacher PAUL CHISNELL who is another total legend
@ibanezpaul Aha. Paul Chisholm if I remember right. I always check people's channels out before commenting -sorry I didn't recognise you fully - it's the beard!!
That track of yours is very well recorded and well played -you were the fastest and cleanest sweep-picker I have ever heard. Period. Better than Frank G himself. The world should hear you man.
Why are you still entering crappy competitions? You are so above that but I guess you lack confidence.
@MsVoyeurGirl Steve was the most sussed guitarist and a real hot-prospect in the 70's. Decca did offer a £1,000,000 deal at one point but his management (Robin Greatorix) was shit.
2nd place in the Melody Maker finals to Slodgenessabounds.
The McCoy mini album.
1 year touring with Bethnal and a superb album that was never released. Bad management again.
@ibanezpaul Hi Paul. We have met. Hope you're doing ok. Maybe you were the first to actually give him money!!! lol .That would have been in Ipswich Rd in the late 80's I guess.
I think Bill Coverdale takes the first pupil accolade in 1978 with a brief series of tutorings - before his girlfriend smashed his Semi-Gibson and he sold Steve his Lab Series L5 for £150.
Best ever gig was Essex Uni top-bar 1976. 3 hours of magic , much dope, party at Dave's after, great days.
Wow, this takes me back. Just doing the maths, Steve must be 51 now - he's aging well. When I knew him he thought he wanted to be a rock star and everything he did was supposedly about becoming a rock star but even then his bigger talent was, and I guess still is, his ability to drag obscurity from the clutches of fame.
Well, well, Stevie boy!! Good to see you on You Tub, it's been such a while since we had a jam my old friend!
You've still got it!
