I don't feel as though Bush had bad intentions when invading Iraq, but he should have just left it alone and went after Bin Laden. I think Novak was right when he said Bush wanted a permenant US presence in the middle east, but I think he wanted to spread democracy there. I feel as though some good did come out of the war though, at least there are free elections in Iraq. That might just be my justification for serving and losing loved ones.

@LordSparkisvati He didn't as you say call out Israel, he called out Neocons and the AIPAC lobbyists. One can respect Israel and its right to Exist, and at the same time attack un-necessary wars like the war in Iraq and Middle East.

robaert novak RIP. In my formative high school years following the work of robert novak and actually believing his work was my way out of the goverment school brainwashing and back into the familial pattern of politics of my own family but with American interest in mind.

This is Bush's legacy. He has destroyed the Republican Party and discredited the conservative/libertarian movement. Now look where we are. We have elected a socialist president. Bush and his Neoconservative minions have setup the final destruction of our nation by Obama. And let me tell ya it is so sad to watch the little ship of freedom, our once grand experiment, sink to the depths of hell.

As one who is mostly liberal, I have to say that opposing the war had very little to do with liberal vs conservative, as there were many valid and logical reasons to oppose the war from both schools of thought.
SA I truly wish there were more Republicans/Conservatives like yourself. Sure, I would have honest disagreements, but also respect guys like you.
