Tony 'Red' Bruin (Queens, NY) was one of the most highly recruited basketball players in Syracuse University history. A high school McDonald's All-American teammate of Dominique Wilkins, Isiah Thomas and James Worthy, Bruin's speed, tenacity and athleticism were punctuated by his astonishing 42 inch standing vertical jump.
*Played in the first-ever season of the Big East Conference, helping Syracuse to the regular season conference crown.
*Played in the final game (and season) at Manley Field House during the final year of the 'Louie & Bouie Show.'
*Played in the first Syracuse basketball game (and season) ever in the Carrier Dome.
*Led the Orange with 25 points in their first Big East Tournament Championship, a legendary 3OT victory over Villanova.
*SU basketball tri-captain (alongside Leo Rautins and Erich Santifer) for his junior and senior campaigns.
*Became a fan favorite due to his knack for performing exceptionally well during nationally televised games, as well as his aerial skills and highlight-reel dunks.
*Left Syracuse in 1983 as the #12 all-time leading scorer in school history
