How to prepare a Mauser bolt for a new bolt handle

There's more to welding on a new bolt handle when converting a military Mauser to a sporting rifle than just welding. In this GunTec presentation Larry Potterfield, CEO and Founder of MidwayUSA, cuts the original handle off the bolt and prepares the replacement for welding. He starts by applying some layout dye to the bolt handle and scribes the cutoff line. A cutoff wheel mounted to a rotary tool is used to remove the handle. Once the old handle has been removed, the new handle is prepared for welding. He starts by scribing a 30 degree line onto the handle and then clamping it in a vise. The root of the handle is filed down to the line. The handle is now ready to be fixtured up for welding.

@Danishka88 It is necessary in order to mount a nice scope on top. My Mauser is going to go through this torture soon. Its a brand new Mauser that I just got. And I am going to destroy the straight bolt handle, and ruin its value like a newb, just to mount a scope on top!
