Laguna II is 11 years old , but it still has one of the most solid bodys of any car. The reason for that is that the Renault wanted Laguna to be the first car in history to get 5 star in EuroNcap, so they overengineered the body to the point where it became so solid it would practicly never bend so much that interior would be in danger. And they did manage 5 stars. But the problem is, at speeds like 55 mph, the forces on body are too high, even if car doesnt break at all, you'll probably die.

Laguna II is a safe car indeed doors open up and all but it would be highly unlikely to survive a crash like that for a person anyway so not much point.
