Medvedev: Fall of Berlin Wall meant reunification of Europe

As Germany is preparing to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, President Dmitry Medvedev has talked to Der Spiegel magazine about the significance this event had had for the whole Europe.

Mafia is called mafia precisely because it's out of control and not easy to be cracked down. Look at Italian mafia as an example. The Germans and the Russians were the best soldiers of ww2. The good soldiers on both sides go respect for each other on the battle feild. The British and americans were just a bunch of loudmounth cowards who tried to act tough seeking attention. Nobody gives a fuck about them. Germany and Russia fought the biggest war of all time on the eastern front. Now today they are friends. God bless germany and russia. :)

What makes people believe that the Wall was good or that the Soviet puppet states where better before the they are now? Every Soviet country, Union member or puppet, is doing much better off now then they ever did under communist rule, ask anyone who lived under communist rule and they will agree (unless they where one of the few who profited from it). The only place better before then now was Yugoslavia because of the ethic cleansing that occurred during the wars.

@kondurperusix - to say Bush JR was stupid shows me that you only hear European propaganda news....many Americans and a large MAJORITY of Americans in the southern and central part of the USA liked Bush very much. Look at the 2004 election. He won easily in many parts of the country. The Democrats are the stupid ones here....

As for Putin - he only wants to control people and take away freedoms. Jeltsin gave freedom of the press. Do you remember? Wake up, man!

Russia was in bankruptcy during yeltsin era,high unemployment,financial crisis,even the russians who dislike communism dislike yeltsin too,he was dumb like bush jr,drunk while meeting other world leaders,today russia is a little better with putin and medvedev who are neither pro-usa nor anti-usa,but pro-russia

@kondurperusix - Yeltsin's main problem was low oil prices and a failure to rid Russiya of it's KGB leadership....and the fact that Bill Clinton bombed Serbiya while he was in office...what can a Russian leader do but back away from the USA over that? But one MUST admire him for taking on the old CCCP and trying to get rid of that old Communist system. Fot that alone he is a giant among world leaders and should be highly honored by all....Russians included.
