March Against APEC/Occupy Honolulu

Kalakaua Park (at the intersection of Kalakau and Kuhio Avenues) ended up being the final destination of the Anti-APEC / Occupy Honolulu march from Old Stadium Park in Moili'ili to Waikiki on November 12, 2011. The marchers wanted to get as close to Hale Koa, the hotel where many APEC guest are staying, but police officers and temporary barricades prevented them from getting closer than Wailana Coffee House on Ala Moana Boulevard.

The groups participating were Occupy Honolulu, Moana Nui 2012, Vietnamese Community Groups for human rights and freedom of the press in Vietnam, as well as those seeking justice for Kollin Elderts, a local Kailua man who was shot in a McDonalds by off-duty federal agent Christopher Deedy, hired to provide security for APEC. Although Deedy, who lives in Arlington, Virginia, refused a breathalyzer, he is said to have been under the influence. Elderts died one week before the march, and Deedy is out on bail.

Bitching about someone being "RICH" isn't going to make your life any better. This country gives everybody the same opportunity to succeed but not the guarantee of equal out come. Success doesn't have to ONLY mean living like the rich and famous . I don't take to a view of being kept down. If you allow your self to wallow in jealousy over someone being "rich" then you will feel as if you are kept down.

Well to each their own free speech opinion about Obama. I think he has a chip on his shoulder towards this country. His approach to problem solving is one that is not in the best interest of this country.
