@chinadollrolo Dachong is also part of ex- Longdu !!! Old timers used can commuicate in native tounge w/ Zhongshan Min speaker from 张家边、南蓢. Hokkien isn't that hard to understand for Longdu speaker if mastered the "rules" .

^_____________________^! I haven't heard this in a long time. I speak this dialect too, but my parents wished they would have taught me Cantonese growing up since only Shaxi people know it. I'm glad I know it though because dialects like this become forgotten and lost.

I think the village is called Haotu, not Hor Tol.

At 0:21 I think he says the women in the story marries a husband from Hor Tol, which is where my dad and grandfather are from. One of the poorest villages in the area, back then a lot of people were poor those in the villages suffered the most. Anyway, he says (from 0:20 onwards): tell him to burn inscents, he burns his pants, tell him to carry water he carries orange/dirt filled water and tell him to cook rice he turns it into glue, then he forgets. What does that say about men from Hor Tol?
