@Blueatchley12 thank you for your kind words :) in fact, there are many better model builders out there, and they are not known. you should look at the models of the famous builders, like miguel jimenez. you will see why they are famous and high ranking!

thinned down black paint works perfectly, i do the same with oil paints, but acrylic or enamel paints are fine aswell.
I'll have to try your pigment method one day on a panzer III or something. I came up with a very effective technique for 1941 mud effects. What i do is wet the surface of the model where the mud will build up. I then dip the brush in Dark mud or russian earth pigment, and tap it over the wet surface. Once the layer is complete, i wet the surface again and repeat that until i'm happy with the mud accumulation. Looks very realistic and nice.

@madgolem i tried to get my hands on a maschinenkrieger model from hasegawa, but they are very expensive...but i will keep searching :)
