The Rick Neuheisel era at UCLA began with the loss of two quarterbacks to injury before the season even started. UCLA is looking at Mt Sac junior college transfer Kevin Craft leading the team as he has been making strides for the starters role at practice. Prior to entering the junior college ranks Craft struggled at San Diego St. Oddsmakers have set the UCLA Bruins 2008 regular season projected win total at 6 games.

The schedule is tough in the non-conference with games against Tennessee, at BYU and Fresno St. In Conference the Bruins must travel to Arizona St, Cal and Oregon which figures to be difficult spots to get a win. Their difficult home games in conference are against Oregon St and USC. But catching an improved Arizona Wildcat squad at home on September 20th will be a tough task for this group of Bruins. The offensive line returns only two starters and is need of depth. Running back Kahlil Brown is coming off an ACL tear from last season. The secondary is rebuilding, as is the defense, which lost many of their seniors from a year ago.

And now for my selection. Rick Neheisel is a good hire for UCLA but he needs time to recruit and this will be a rebuilding year for this team. The Bruins are down to a third string quarterback and that wont bode well against their schedule and especially with an inexperienced offensive line.

Play UCLA Bruins under 6 wins for the 2008 regular season.

Selection: UNDER 6 wins in 2008 Regular Season.
