From this 1977 episode of the Lawrence Welk Show, here's Jack Imel and Mary Lou Metzger with a cute novelty song titled "Goofus" which was covered by artists such as Les Paul, Phil Harris and The Carpenters.
Welk (Who was big in real estate in S. California, alongside his TV show and highly successful music publishing business), was a full-blown Nazi war criminal, but due to a family friendship with J. Edgar Hoover, the whole business has been hushed up, and a completely bogus "farm-boy" identity concocted for the brutal mass-murderer. The town he came from in North Dakota was the US vortex for the pro-Nazi Bund pre-1941, and was full of lovers of Hitler's Third Reich.
Too funny... the Carpenters recorded their version of this in 1976 (which is probably why it ended up on Welk here in 1977, if that's the year), and then in 1978, did a "music video" for it in "Space Encounters" (part 3 of it here on YouTube), coincidentally with Karen wearing yellow with blue overalls...
I love this. Funny Welk intro, nice musical arrangement, and great performance. I'm fonder of pre-1975 Welk, but I am willing to make exceptions and I certainly do in this case.

They sure don't make quality shows like this anymore! This is timeless, classic stuff.
This is when music WAS music, unlike so much manufactured stuff out there today.
