What's dumb is "art for the sake of art", What's your message? What's the inspiration? Are you trying to make people think or feel something? Or is it just shock value? People lying in body bags in front of a Tobacco corporation is this type of performing art with purpose, making a statement, this is just wasted energy. Saying "It's called contemporary art" isnt answering my question at all.

I think you need to read the definition of the word "art".  What you described is a peaceful demonstration to convey a message to an audience. It was creative but not necessarily art.

"art for art's sake", as it's properly written, is as old as Roman culture and it is not dumb. It just does not serve a moral or utilitarian purpose.

the flash mob we had today was pretty fun but it wasnt intricate at all, it was planned last minute and only 600 people came hahah. we did it in the salem mall and the first one at noon we all stood up and started clapping wildly and whistling and shit then we ran to hot topic and did we will rock you for like 7 minutes hahaha
