I guess so, it's the same with vocalists like james Hetfield, much prefer earlier sounding Metallica not just because they're heavier/faster but because his voice was best then :D
haha, it's just i'm from Brazil, so i don't speak english very well, but if you understand what i said, then i'm not that bad haha. The voice changes so much, but when FNM came to São Paulo, on first song, "Reunited", Patton's voice was so damn good... oh god.., looked like his was 20 years old again...!!

Don't get me wrong, they were awesome at Download, but his voice was so much better sounding around their The Real Thing era :P
