He was by far the most handsome and dignified Sherlock Holmes. Just because I'm young doesn't mean I have to love Robert Downy Jr. People gasp when I say I don't like Robert Downy Jr as Sherlock Holmes. Basil was and always will be THE Sherlock Holmes, no matter how many other Robert Downy Jr.s or losers there will be. There will NEVER be another Basil Rathbone or another Sherlock Holmes.
RIP Basil. We all miss you. ♥

To think the people of my generation refer to Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes. Positively disgraceful. Yay for Basil and actors who, like him, portrayed their characters with class, intellect, and dignity. And long live Sherlock Holmes!
