Huge admirers of Harmony should get the Collected Screenplays 1. If you read this scene and then watch it, it's fictitious script turning into the most beautifully constructed reality before your eyes. I thought this entire thing was improvised other than a few notes, but it's all scripted. And seeing Herzog say these actual lines with a few very natural ad-libs here in there, is the magic of turning imagination into cinema.
