Well, another fire drill caught on tape. The best part is, I WAS IN IT! I say this because I was in the lecture center (LC 18 to be specific - one of the 2 biggest LCs at UAlbany) and the lecture centers have a voice evac system, so now I know how all the voice evac systems work!
The alarm goes off in "stages". First, the strobes start flashing. After 1 flash, a "chime" sounds twice. And after the chimes, it does slow whoop twice, then plays a message 3x, and after that, it goes into constant slow whoop until the system is silenced.
In case you can't distinguish the alarm message, this is what it says:
"Attention! Attention! Attention! An emergency has been reported! All occupants walk to the nearest stairway exit, and walk down to your assigned re-entry floor or main lobby. Do not use the elevator. Walk to the nearest stairway, do not use the elevator. Walk to the nearest stairway."
Sad to say, because I had no previous knowledge of this drill, I could only start taping from when the voice announcement began playing for the first time. HOWEVER, here's a sim of the whole alarm: http://www.dan.calvinet.com/UAlbany_Voice_Evac.wav and again, at the end, it goes into constant slow whoop until silenced.
IMO, I think this announcement is kind of odd, as yes there are elevators and stairs, but they don't lead to other floors - just exits, as far as I'm concerned.
Anyway, enjoy this vid, as it's the best one, and I'll post abut 4 more vids later.
BTW, in the vid, I comment on how loud the alarm was, and for the record, I said "BARELY" loud, not "very" loud. Sorry for the confusion. Also, I apologize for my shaking, but I couldn't help it.
One last thing: a shout out to the guys who recognized me in class from this site!
Which buildings on UA property have voice evac and which ones don't?

@Gb755c the Campus Center (main building), Performing Arts Center, Library, Lecture Centers, Arts and Sciences, Phys Ed building and SEFCU Arena have voice evac, the rest are all non-voice evac.

do the voice instructions only play at the beginning of the alarm because all I can hear for the rest of the video is the slow whoop. One of our dorms has the same alarm and I was pretty sure it had voice instructions but one day I walked past as they were having a drill and all I heard was the slow whoop.

@sfoiad Yes, as the description says, it does two chimes, two slow whoops, plays a message three times, then does slow whoop until silenced/reset.

"My stuff!"
If that was a reference to Zelda on CDi...

@thevisualboy37 no, my stuff was just on the floor and in many collages, when the alarm goes off, you're supposed to take your things with you.
